The Paralympic and Experimental Football Division (DCPS) of the FIGC was established on October 3, 2019, with the goal of promoting the growth of football among people with disabilities. To achieve this, it organizes 7-a-side football competitions on a regional scale, structured into different categories and culminating in national finals.
As of today, over 100 clubs and approximately 140 teams participate in DCPS competitions, many of which are affiliated with professional football clubs from Serie A, B, and C, or with amateur organizations.
Among the clubs involved in this important project, AC Milan and Fondazione Milan have chosen to support Briantea84, a Paralympic sports club based in Cantù (CO). With this initiative, the Rossoneri family reaffirms its commitment to inclusion and to ensuring access to sports for all, emphasizing the educational, social, and unifying values of football.
Through sports, Briantea84 represents a significant opportunity for inclusion, empowerment, and personal growth for many young athletes with disabilities.
The project aims to make football accessible to everyone by organizing inclusive competitions that encourage growth and interaction among teams. The initiative seeks to promote social integration by using football as a tool to break down physical and social barriers while enhancing local communities by creating a support network for Paralympic teams. Additionally, the project strives to foster the personal and professional development of athletes, contributing to cultural change through the promotion of inclusion in sports.
The project is dedicated to 30 athletes and coaches from the DCPS Briantea84 team.
