Today we tell you the story of Fabio, an 18 year old boy affected by a motor disability of the lower limbs. It is his mother, through her eyes, who tells us the story of his life.
Fabio has been doing sport for two years thanks to the project “Sport for All” at Playmore! centre, born thanks to the collaboration with Fondazione Milan. His mother is very happy and thanks all the staff of the project for the support she gives, and will continue to give, to her son who is finally happy today.
With Sport for All Fabio can participate in the integrated soccer course: after a field test, he is already sure to join the group! And this is how his adventure begins!
“Finally he can kick a ball, a ball that for years has always been a danger to his feet and legs; but the rest of the group knows how to involve him, they know how to respect his time and above all they accept him for what he is and not for what his feet can or cannot do.” Samantha, Fabio’s mother, tells us.Incredulous at first too, about the possibility of having her son play with other kids, as he understands that sports for her son is everything.
“For me to see his eyes light up fills me with joy. What can I say thank you guys for giving him this opportunity!” she tells us.The Sport for All project is committed to expanding the sports offer dedicated to people with disabilities, so that everyone, without distinction, can enjoy the psychophysical and relational benefits that come from sport, and to promote the culture of integrated sport, in which children with and without disabilities take the field together.
