The project, promoted by Fondazione Milan, Fondazione Costruiamo il Futuro, and Fondazione Snaitech, involved the renovation of the 7-a-side football field at the Parrocchia Madonna dei Poveri, located in the peripheral Baggio neighborhood (Municipality 7 of Milan).
The football field at the parish had structural issues that compromised its use and safety, with frequent flooding and inconveniences for the young people who frequent the facility. These issues limited sports and recreational activities and reduced opportunities for socialization within the community.
The intervention resulted in the complete refurbishment of the field, enabling the enhancement of recreational and sporting activities and providing a new sports space for young people and families.
The goal of the project is to promote social inclusion through sport, creating a safe and stimulating environment where young people can feel part of a community and build meaningful relationships.
The sports and recreational activities will contribute to the development of essential skills such as leadership, responsibility, and teamwork, preparing the young participants to become active and conscious citizens. Moreover, the refurbishment of the field strengthens the role of the parish as a key reference point for the neighborhood, offering new opportunities for socializing and growth for people of all ages.
The beneficiaries of the project include members of the local Baggio neighborhood community, who will benefit from a safe and welcoming sports field, serving as a reference point for community initiatives. Additionally, the space is used by ASD San Domenico Savio, which includes 250 athletes, volunteers, and coaches.
