Educating through Football
Isaac is 27 years old and an English teacher. He grew up playing football, and for this reason, he decided to also take on the role of physical education teacher in the past two years.
With the launch of the Fairplay project, supported by Fondazione Milan through the Sport for Change program in collaboration with Fondazione Italia Uganda, the coach immediately sprang into action. Isaac hopes to instill in his students a passion for football while also imparting the positive values this sport can offer.
Isaac believes this project will be crucial in the development of the young people participating in the activities and will make them better citizens.
Here is his testimony:
“I grew up with a great love for football, thanks to my father, who was a physical education teacher. He was the one who passed on this passion to me. I was excited about organizing the first match between students and teachers: it was a very significant game because not only did the students win, but it also officially integrated football practice into the school curriculum. In football, there are no shortcuts; it’s much more than just winning or losing. That’s why it’s necessary to teach discipline to the players, as well as promote good habits like respect for the opponent, solidarity, and healthy cooperation. My commitment is to help children in this process.”
